I am saddened to report the following death.
Giovanni Bianchi passed away today, Tuesday, July 30. Giovanni was my uncle. He was born on April 6, 1932. My deepest symathies and condolences to the immediate family, my aunt Zia Giustinella and cousins Jack and Suzie. The funeral home is called MCDOUGALL & BROWN located at 1812 Eglinton West in Toronto (Dufferin & Eglinton is the main interection). Visiting hours are as follows Thursady at 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday at 2:00pm to 4:00pm AND 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The mass will be said at 10:00am on Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church located at 640 Glenholme Ave. Internment is at Mount Hope Cemetary.

I am saddened to report the following death.
Giocondina Mastrella passed away on Sunday, July 28. Giocondina was born on March 21, 1923. Funeral mass will be at St. Augustine of Canterbury (80 Shoreham Drive in Toronto) at 10:00am Wednesday July 31. Entombment is at Holy Cross Cemetery. Our deepest symathies and prayers to family and friends.

Congratulations to Santina (Bianchi) Palozzi who turned 100 years old! I am told her birthday was June 30, 1902. I am also told that she is the first person from "La Villa" to turn 100. Santina lives in Toronto.

This year's picnic in the USA will be held on July 28 on Sunday at Genesee Valley Parkin Rochester, New York. If anyone is interested in attending, the contact persons are the same as last year. Check the USA section of the web site for the list of names. It's a wonderful way to spend the day!

Valentino Mastrella in Villavallelonga has started the GRUPPO PRO DON GAETANO. He has just put up a web site dedicated to Don Gaetano at link http://web.tiscali.it/don.gaetano/ . It is not complete, but has lots of interesting things for people to see, many pictures of Don Gaetano’s personal objects from the “museum” at the church. This is valuable information for us outside Villavallelonga and La Marsica. THANKS VALENTINO!!!
