INTRODUCTION

The committee of Saint Leucio invites you, your family and friends to Marylake, King City, to celebrate The Feast of San Leucio on Sunday September 1st, 2002. The Feast of San Leucio is an event that has been passed on from generation to generation. It is important that our children continue this long-standing tradition in honour of our heritage and to give glory to God through the veneration of San Leucio. San Leucio is the primary patron and protector of our community. The great miracle attributed to him is never forgotten. When Villavallelonga was under a great siege by neighbouring forces, the whole community prayed to San Leucio by reciting the Rosary. God heard their prayers and saved them from plunder and destruction by sending a heavy fog which completely covered the town and countryside. The attackers were so confused that they fought amongst themselves; even unto death. In order to make this day a special one, we require your presence and your generous contribution. Your offering will be greatly appreciated in the form of a cheque payable to San Leucio Committee by August 15, 2002.

DONATION PRIZE

New for this year are Donation Prize(s). Only those who have been invited to the feast and make a donation have a chance of winning this prize. You must return the donation reply card along with your cheque in the enclosed self-addressed envelope. Please remember to tell us on the card how many children and adults are attending. Thank you so much for your donation!

DOOR PRIZES

Enclosed, you will find an entrance ticket to the park. PLEASE bring this with you for a chance to win door prize(s). We will use this ticket for the draw of door prizes

RAFFLE TICKETS

Raffle tickets will be on sale as in past celebrations. Tickets are $1 each or a book of 11 tickets for $10. The committee is offering you 1 free ticket for every 10 tickets you sell AND 1 free book for every 10 books you sell! Use the donation reply card to inform us of your ability to sell tickets. We will contact you well in advance when they are ready.

BUSINESS CARDS

If you have a business card, please send it so that we may copy it into our business directory. We will distribute a complete list on the day of our feast. There is no charge for sending in your card.

PICTURE BOARD

We will attempt to have pictures of Villavallelonga on display at the picnic. If you have old pictures you would like to share, please bring them along.

NEXT YEAR'S COMMITTEE

Over the last few years, we have encountered much difficulty in finding members to accept the honour and responsibility of participating on the committee. Please check the box on the donation reply card if you would like to volunteer for next year's committee. Important: People who volunteer will have first priority over those who don't. Please volunteer. If we do not have enough volunteers, the rest of the committee will be selected in a draw as in past celebrations.

CHURCH AND PROCESSION

The feast is a religious event. Please make a special effort to attend mass and the procession at 11:00.
